Making your own fabric softener ? It's quick and easy !

Making your own fabric softener has never been so quick and easy, all you have to do is follow this recipe. I've been using it for years and I'm particularly happy with it. My old fabric softener clogged up my washing machine, hardly ran in the drum at all and was therefore completely useless. Doing it yourself, with your own washing powder, is not only super easy but also saves you a lot of money ! So, are you ready to embark on the homemade adventure ?

Citrus sweetening



Ingredients
  • White vinegar (8% acidity))
  • Water
  • Untreated orange and / or lemon peel


Preparation


​Take a 1 L (33,81 fl oz) glass bottle and pour in 250 ml (8,45 fl oz) of white vinegar. Make up the rest with tap water. 


​Add the citrus peel and leave to infuse for 24 to 48 hours. Filter and use in a quantity equivalent to your usual fabric softener.


Aromatic variation : after putting 250 ml (8,45 fl oz) of white vinegar in the bottle, you can add 750 ml (25,36 fl oz) of infusion of lavender, rosemary or other aromatic plants of your choice. The infusion should be made hot and covered, as for a drink, to release as many aromas as possible.
